The Horse Transportation Agreement Governs Our Services

All transport and training services provided by JRS Horse Transport and Training ("JRS," "we," "us") are governed by our Horse Transportation Agreement, which is signed before transport begins.

That Agreement is the controlling document. It sets out our responsibilities and yours in full, including authorization to transport, your representations about your horse, health and veterinary documentation, fitness for transport, sedation, loading and unloading, feed, water, bedding, protective equipment, shared and private transport, GPS tracking, weather and road conditions, emergency decision-making, veterinary authorization, personal property, our right to refuse or terminate transport, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

A copy is provided with every quote and is available on request. Please read it before you approve a quote. If anything in it is unclear, call us — we would rather explain it now than have you surprised later.

Where anything on this page conflicts with the signed Agreement, the signed Agreement controls.

Acceptance

By approving a quote, submitting a deposit, making any payment, or tendering a horse to us for transport, you confirm that you have received the Horse Transportation Agreement, that you agree to it, and that you agree to the payment and cancellation terms set out below.

Quotes

Quotes are valid for [X] days from the date issued.

Every quote is based on the transport type, pickup and delivery locations, dates, and number of horses stated on it. If any of those change, the quote is void and we will issue a revised one.

Quotes assume pickup and delivery points that can be safely reached by a truck and three-horse slant load trailer. If a location cannot accommodate that, we will work with you to arrange a safe alternate meeting point, which may affect the price.

Payment

These terms are provided under Section 23 of the Horse Transportation Agreement.

  • A deposit of [X]% is due on approval of the quote. Your transport date is reserved only once the deposit is received.

  • The balance is due on delivery, before your horse is unloaded.

  • Additional charges described in Section 23 of the Agreement — including waiting time, additional mileage, detours, veterinary stops, after-hours or emergency transport, special handling, and loading assistance or training — are added to the final invoice and are due on the same terms.

  • Invoices unpaid after [X] days accrue a late charge of [X]% per month on the outstanding balance. You are responsible for reasonable costs of collection, including attorney's fees.

Accepted payment methods are listed on your invoice.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

These terms are provided under Section 24 of the Horse Transportation Agreement.

If you cancel:

  • More than [X] days before the scheduled pickup — deposit refunded in full

  • Between [X] and [X] days before pickup — deposit retained

  • Less than [X] hours before pickup, or the horse is not presented at the agreed time and place — deposit retained, plus a [X]% no-show fee

If you reschedule: more than [X] days before pickup, at no charge and subject to availability.

Missing documentation. Transport that cannot proceed because required documentation under Section 6 of the Agreement is missing, expired, or incomplete is treated as a same-day cancellation.

If we cancel: where we cancel for any reason other than those listed in Section 25 of the Agreement, everything you have paid, including the deposit, is refunded in full. We will make every reasonable effort to arrange an alternate date or refer you to another hauler.

We may reschedule transport when required for safety, legal compliance, weather, mechanical problems, or driver availability, as set out in Section 24 of the Agreement.

Insurance

JRS carries commercial liability insurance covering its operations.

This is not mortality or major medical insurance for your horse. We strongly recommend that you carry your own equine mortality and major medical coverage. Limitation of liability is addressed in Section 27 of the Agreement.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. The version in effect on the date your quote was issued is the version that applies to your transport.
